We’ve all heard of people doing crazy things for love. Maybe you’ve even wondered what a person might do for a Klondike bar. But putting your life on the line for science?

On his show “Life on the Line,” Norwegian physicist Andreas Wahl engages in death-defying stunts all in the name of science.

With years of studying under his belt and a healthy understanding of scientific laws, you can argue that Wahl is never in any real danger. But all the scientific certainty in the world could never convince me to tie a rope around myself and drop from a 45-foot high building, trusting in only a counterweight to save me.

To prove the scientific principle of Centripetal Force, Wahl did just that, as you can see in the video above.

The Density of Water

In an experiment that has started to draw attention, Wahl worked to show just how hard it can be to move underwater. The most logical way he could do this was by shooting a gun at himself in a pool.

Because water molecules are so much closer together than air molecules, water is 800 times denser than air.

Wahl calculated that a bullet fired from a gun under water at a distance would not reach him.

To prove his point, he performed the experiment on camera. Under no circumstances are you to try this at home, or in the community pool, or at the YMCA, or in the ocean, or literally anywhere else ever.

Say what you will about Wahl’s trust in science, at the end of that video, he looks mighty happy that his experiment worked.
