There’s a saying that “extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof“.  Those are words to live by, particularly when it comes to advertising.  BBC technology reporter Dan Simmons got a good example of that at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.  He spent some time talking with the CEO of Sonim about their new “unbreakable” cell phone.

As the Simmons got the spiel about all the wonderful things it could survive, he dunked the phone in an aquarium and then whacked it a few times against the side, promptly breaking the screen.

*Whack! Whack! CRACK!*  Whoops.
